The Shirt

The shirt was worn during the 2011 Yorkshire Masters tournament at the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield on Sunday 26th June. It is manufactured by nike and the main shirt sponsor is Rapid Solicitors. Each shirt used in the tournament featured the Selco sleeve patches and the kitbag.com secondary sponsor.

The tournament saw Leeds take on five other Yorkshire sides in a bid to become Yorkshire Masters Champions and qualify for the Masters Grand Final to be played in Manchester later in the summer.

Leeds were grouped with Huddersfield and Barnsley in a bid to reach the Final. Leeds won both their group games beating Huddersfield 4-3 and Barnsley 3-2 to setup a Final against the other group winners, Sheffield United. The Fiinl was another high scoring game seeing Leeds crowned Yorkshire Masters Champions in a thrilling 5-3 win, with Darren Huckerby scoring 4.

The Player

The shirt was worn by former Leeds forward Jamie Forrester in the 2011 Yorkshire Masters tournament. 17 year old Forrester joined Leeds in 1992 after a short spell with AJ Auxerre in France.

Jamie wrote himself into Leeds folk law by scoring an outrageous overhead kick against Manchester United in the FA Youth Cup Final at Elland Road in 1993. The goal is still regarded as one of the finest in Leeds' history.

Jamie demonstrated that he still has an eye for goal in the 2011 Yorkshire Masters by scoring in each game Leeds played including a sensational last-gasp winner against Barnsley then an important goal against Sheffield United in the final to help Leeds become the 2011 Yorkshire Masters Champions.
